Hard Tech UK
The UK is building the future.
Most people don’t know it yet.

The problem
The UK’s hard tech sector doesn’t lack ambition — it lacks visibility. Robotics, quantum computing, aerospace, deep bio: serious companies are being built out of Oxford, Cambridge, and London, spinning out of some of the world’s best universities. But there’s no central place to understand the landscape — who’s building what, who’s backing them, or where the talent opportunities are.
These are also hard companies to grow. Specialised skills are scarce, and scaling deep tech in the UK comes with its own particular challenges. The ecosystem deserves more attention than it gets.
The approach
Hard Tech UK is a directory of the UK’s hard tech ecosystem. Browse companies by sector, see who’s invested in them, and find open roles. Built to surface a scene that’s hidden in plain sight — and make it easier for talent, capital, and curious people to find their way in.
Building in public
This is a new project and the data is growing all the time. I’m building it in the open — adding companies, iterating on the product, and documenting the process on TikTok. The decisions, the dead ends, and what’s actually working.
